Chairman of the bored

Yesterday I ran stairs and I will go out running today as soon as the rain stops.  I´m very bored now, so here is something to kill my time:I recently found a very entertaining videotape called Nutrition & Behavior by a Russell Baylock. The tape is as expected on how behavior can be correlated to nutrition. This had a few jewels in it. One of them was the mentioning of the Quolla indians in Peru. Mr Baylock describes these people as the most violent people on earth since they apparently are all about raping, pillaging, killing etc.  As an explanation for this behavior it is stated that 55 % of the Quolla indians suffers from hypoglycemia. The reason for this widespread condition is claimed to be that their diet manly consist of potatoes causing this condition.

Killer food

If you still doubt that this killer food transforms pansies into manimals I have further information about the potato and its violent history.

New Zealand used to be inhabited by the Maori and the Polynesians who fought each other. They were limited to combating neighboring tribes since their diet consisted of sweet potatoes (and not the killer potato). The sweet potato was difficult to grow and transport in such amounts need for bigger campaigns, so the had to settle to fight their neighbors. In the beginning of the nineteenth century the Europeans arrived and gave the Maori the blessing of the killer potato (and a few handy guns). When the Maori crop yield increased they could successfully raid the Polynesians (how lacked guns and killer potato) into oblivion.

Even if this was mostly lies, slander and oversimplifications, it was still wildly funny.

I´m back in Sweden and so far I have mostly been enjoying things being on time. I ran for 30 minutes today. I don´t have a place to train jiu jitsu here in Helsingborg so I will try to run and do some strength training the next few weeks before I go to Berlin. I will also try to drop to pluma for Scandinavian Open.

I´m back in Rio and today I ran Urca mountain in 9.06. The record time is not better cardio than before mundials, but simply better understanding of physics. I ran alone today and instead of using Gabriels method of constant speed I went for the strategy of constant power. After that I went and trained jiu jitsu at De La Riva and I will go for a second class after this.
